Discovery Flight

FIND YOUR WINGS

Take the First Step Into Aviation

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a pilot? A Discovery Flight with Rich Aviation Services is the perfect way to see if flying is right for you.

For just $145, you’ll spend 30 minutes in the air in a Cessna 172 and 30 minutes with a professional instructor on the ground.

Not only will you meet our team and tour our facilities, but this first lesson can also be logged in your pilot logbook as Lesson #1 toward your Private Pilot Certificate.

What to Expect on Your Flight

Preflight Briefing

Your experience begins with a tour of our school, facilities, and services. Your instructor will then walk you through what to expect during the flight, covering safety procedures, weather, and aircraft systems. Together, you’ll complete a hands-on preflight inspection of the airplane.

The Flight

From the pilot’s seat, you’ll run the checklist, start up the engine, and taxi to the runway with your instructor’s guidance. Once airborne, you’ll take the controls — learning to climb, turn, descend, and manage airspeed. You’ll be surprised how natural it feels to fly! After some time in the practice area, you and your instructor will return to land at the airport. The flight lasts about 30 minutes.

Post-Flight Debrief

Back on the ground, your instructor will review the flight with you, answer any questions, and log your very first flight lesson.

Please schedule at least 48 hours in advance. A government-issued ID is required, and if you’re redeeming a gift certificate, bring it with you.
