Your Pilot Training Journey

Pilot training can take many routes, but the typical order at Rich Aviation Services will take you from your very first flight to professional-level certifications. Whether your goal is to fly for fun, build hours, or pursue a career in aviation, our programs at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport (KFTW) and Decatur Municipal Airport (KLUD) provide everything you need to become a safe, skilled, and confident pilot.

Take a Discovery Flight!

Experience the thrill of flying for the first time with a Discovery Flight. You’ll sit in the pilot’s seat with a certified instructor, taxi, take off, and even handle the controls. This one-hour experience (30 minutes ground, 30 minutes flight) is your first logged lesson toward becoming a pilot.

Private Pilot

Earn your wings and fly day or night for personal or business purposes. You’ll master the fundamentals of flight, navigation, and safety under the guidance of our experienced instructors. This is the foundation for all future training.

Instrument Rating

Expand your skills and fly confidently in low-visibility conditions by reference to instruments alone. The Instrument Rating makes you a safer, more capable pilot while qualifying you to fly under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).

Commercial Pilot Certificate

Turn your passion into a profession. With a Commercial Pilot Certificate, you’ll refine advanced flying skills and qualify for paid flying opportunities in a variety of fields.

Flight Instructor Certificates (CFI, CFII, MEI)

Sharpen your skills while teaching others. Becoming a flight instructor is both rewarding and one of the fastest ways to build hours toward your next aviation milestone.

  • CFI – Train private and commercial students.
  • CFII – Teach instrument students.
  • MEI – Instruct in multi-engine aircraft.
